Further PV Park in Russia completed
Successful installation of the Elista solar park
GILDEMEISTER LSG Solar Rus has realised a further photovoltaic park in Russia. The solar park is located in the administrative district of Astrakhan, one of the sunniest regions of southwest Russia, and has an output of 15 MW. After Yenotayevka and Volodarovka, the pv park named Elista is the third major project created by the Russian subsidiary of GILDEMEISTER energy solutions. The Elista project is part of a government programme to promote solar parks in Russia.
The requirements with regard to the use of materials were a special feature, because at least 70 percent of the components were to be sourced from Russian production. A special local content audit was applied to check on compliance with these specifications. As soon as the park is connected to the public grid, a qualification check for the wholesale supply of energy and the Russian electricity exchange will be carried out.
The installation period of the utility scale was quite short: within only 13 days a total of 45,000 modules were installed, in other words around 3,500 modules per day. The Elista park is currently in its test phase, with commissioning scheduled for May 2019. After connection to the grid the modules are expected to generate more than 20 gigawatt hours of green electricity per year.
Like its two predecessor projects, the Elista park was developed by VERSHINA Development LLC and GREEN SOURCE GmbH. The investor was Austria’s CORE VALUE CAPITAL GmbH.
By the way, it will not be long before the next success story is going to be announced: a further project entitled “Mihailovskaya” is already under construction and will also come on stream this year. Just like the previous projects, the solar park will have a total capacity of 15 MW and will be implemented by GILDEMEISTER LSG Solar Rus OOO.
Update: Since July 2019, GILDEMEISTER energy solutions operates as STEAG Solar Energy Solutions, known as SENS, and continues to cooperate with its former subsidiary GILDEMEISTER LSG Solar Rus.
