Solar park Chinchilla Queensland Australia

20 MW connected to grid in Australia

Solar park Chinchilla successfully went into operation

Another success story was written at the other side of the world: A large scale solar park went into operation in Australia. During the last few months the team of GILDEMEISTER LSG Solar Australia implemented Chinchilla, a 20MWp project in Queensland.

As a full-service EPC GILDEMEISTER LSG Solar Australia was responsible for the planning, execution and commissioning of the project and will also carry out any upcoming maintenance.

The plant, which has over 60,000 modules, will feed around 42,000 MWh of renewable energy into the grid each year. It is a tracked system, which means modules follow the sun based on round about 200 trackers.

The ground mounted project was commissioned by Impact Investment Group, a funds manager and co-investor based in Melbourne specialized in investments having a social and environmental impact. The Chinchilla solar farm is one of the assets in its IIG Solar Asset Fund, which will shortly be re-opened to new investment.

The Australian team of GILDEMEISTER LSG that implemented the project has a long-term experience in the field of Renewable Energies – especially solar - is based in Brisbane, familiar with the local conditions of building in Australia and holds an ISO-certification.

Update: Since July 2019, GILDEMEISTER energy solutions operates as STEAG Solar Energy Solutions (SENS).
