Apprentice Technical System Planner

Education career:
Practical & meaningful work in the region.

It was immediately clear to me that I wanted to start a practical apprenticeship near my hometown after my Abitur. I originally come from Tauberbischofsheim and graduated from the commercial school in Bad Mergentheim in 2020. Immediately afterwards, I looked for a practical and meaningful apprenticeship position that would suit me and also motivate me in the long term. In September 2020, I started my apprenticeship as a technical system planner at SENS in Würzburg and will complete it in 2023 after my third year.

My choice for SENS was not difficult, because it was clear to me from the beginning that I wanted to pursue a technical career. And when I came across a job advertisement from SENS and saw the position within the photovoltaic sector, I knew immediately: this is what I want to do. This exciting industry not only sets me apart from my classmates of the same age, but also motivates me in the long term. I can make a difference here!

Work:
Apprenticeship at SENS

As an apprentice technical system planner, I have a varied everyday working life. In addition to the two-week block school that takes place regularly, I can outgrow myself every day at SENS. My tasks vary between planning PV systems in the AutoCAD programme and visiting construction sites to be able to support the previously planned projects directly on site. The alternation between office and construction site makes the training interesting for me. The fact that I can organise my working hours flexibly is very beneficial to me, as I can then consciously take time for school, studying and exams.

Highlight: Internship in Vienna

My personal highlight was a short trip to Vienna to the company LSG Building Solutions. I was allowed to complete an internship at the partner company of SENS at the beginning of the year in order to gain experience in the area of building technology and to gain knowledge for my intermediate examination.

But every other "trip" to a solar park planned by the team is also a special change for me that I always look forward to. Seeing how something that was previously planned in a programme becomes reality and produces green electricity after commissioning is very exciting. Every time I do this, I realise that I am doing something meaningful and that I can do something good for the environment.

Working environment:
relaxed cooperation

Together with my team, I have already been able to realise a few projects in the last months and I really enjoy the relaxed teamwork with my colleagues. The helpfulness here is really great and everyone joins in. I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can experience at SENS in the future!
