Working student in planning

Success story:

At the end of my bachelor's degree in "Renewable Energy Technology" at the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, I joined the former GILDEMEISTER energy solutions as a working student in order to get to know the business field of Rooftop Systems in more detail. I gained my first experience in the field of open-space installations during my practical semester. However, rooftop systems were a completely new subject for me, in which I wanted to get a deeper insight. Right from the beginning of my time as a working student, I was directly involved in the planning of Europe-wide projects and here I can optimally apply and further develop the knowledge I gained during my studies.

University and work:

Flexible working hours strike an ideal balance between my studies and work. It’s also possible to arrange longer breaks from work in rather stressful exam periods. Working hours can then be increased during semester breaks. Due to my major study focus on "energy from the sun", I had already gained deeper theoretical knowledge in the field of photovoltaics, which I can practically reinforce by my current fields of work.

What I particularly like about my job is that as a working student I am considered a full team member and am given responsibility for my own tasks. A lot of importance is attached to understanding and questioning the work steps. I haven't heard the phrase "We've always done it this way, that's why we're doing it this way again!

One of my personal highlights is the tangible result of my own plannings in the form of finished photovoltaic systems. Due to varied tasks and topics, we are given optimal conditions for professional and personal development. Furthermore, SENS offers a young and dynamic work environment with numerous advantages. An active health management with sports classes, stretching breaks and fresh fruit keeps you motivated.

Work environment:

Working atmosphere and communication within the department couldn’t be better. Issues are openly addressed and discussed. The positive work environment is characterised by flat hierarchies, a high level of self-initiative and dedication as well as great solidarity within our company.
